How Long Does the NEOS Electric Radiator Take to Warm Up?

Nobody wants to wait hours for warmth. So how quickly does the NEOS electric radiator actually heat your room?

The Quick Answer

The NEOS electric radiator starts convecting heat into your room within 6 minutes. You’ll feel warm air circulating almost immediately.

However, the time it takes to reach your desired room temperature depends on several factors.

What Affects Warm-Up Time?

1. Starting Temperature If your room is very cold (e.g., you’ve been away and the heating’s been off), it will take longer to reach your desired temperature than if you’re just topping up warmth in a room that’s already moderately warm.

2. Room Size Larger rooms naturally take longer to heat than smaller rooms because there’s more air to warm.

3. Insulation Quality Well-insulated rooms retain heat better and warm up faster. Poorly insulated rooms lose heat as quickly as the radiator adds it, extending warm-up time.

4. Radiator Size This is crucial: if you have the right size radiator for your room, warm-up is rapid. If the radiator is undersized, it will struggle to reach the desired temperature quickly.

Our Sizing Process

At Trust Electric Heating, we calculate the exact kW output you need based on:

  • Your room measurements

  • Insulation levels

  • Glazing type

  • Property characteristics

As long as you have the right size radiator, your room should warm up rapidly.

How the NEOS Heats Quickly

The NEOS combines two technologies for fast warm-up:

1. Aluminium Casing Aluminium heats rapidly when electricity passes through the heating element. This provides instant warmth.

2. Quadvex Convection The NEOS draws cold air from floor level, heats it quickly through double or triple convection flutes, and releases warm air into your room. This active air circulation speeds up the heating process.

Typical Warm-Up Times

While exact times vary based on the factors above, typical warm-up times are:

  • Small, well-insulated room: 15-30 minutes

  • Medium room with average insulation: 30-60 minutes

  • Large or poorly insulated room: 60-90 minutes

These times assume you have the correctly sized NEOS radiator for your space.

The Bottom Line

The NEOS electric radiator starts convecting heat within 6 minutes. Full room warm-up time depends on your room size, insulation, starting temperature, and whether you have the correctly sized radiator.
