The whole life carbon cost of the NEOS includes emissions from manufacturing, maintenance, and disposal. While exact figures vary, the NEOS is designed for effectiveness, durability, and sustainability, helping to reduce its overall carbon footprint.
Embodied carbon:
The NEOS features a natural soapstone core encased in a recyclable aluminium body. The radiator is manufactured in Britain, reducing emissions associated with long distance transportation.
Operational carbon:
The NEOS features patented Cool Wall technology and Quadvex convection, to optimise heat distribution and soapstone supports retention of heat. These features contribute to lower running costs compared to panel and oil heaters, indicating reduced energy consumption and lower operational carbon emissions.
Maintenance and longevity:
The NEOS comes with a 25 year guarantee, this means fewer replacements over time which distributes the embodied carbon over an extended period and reduces the overall carbon footprint.
End of life disposal:
Both the aluminum and soapstone are recyclable materials and will be recycled. At the end of its life the recyclable components will be recycled, minimising waste and the carbon emissions associated with the production of new materials.
