Trust Electric Heating: Yorkshire firm eyes growth abroad as it opens revamped factory

West Yorkshire mayor Tracy Brabin has officially opened an electric radiator manufacturer’s refurbished facility.

Trust Electric Heating’s factory in Garforth has undergone a major transformation facilitated by a £31,825 West Yorkshire Combined Authority Made Smarter digital grant.

The investment enabled the manufacturer of electric radiators to modernise its operations, boosting productivity and enhancing its testing facilities.

During the visit, Mayor Brabin toured the upgraded site, met apprentices and T Level students supported by Trust, and helped build a radiator herself.

The refurbishment marks a significant milestone for Trust Electric Heating, founded by husband-and-wife team Fiona and Scott Conor, as it seeks to continue growing its market share in the alternative heating market.

The redeveloped factory is supporting Trust to streamline its production process and develop new products. It comes at an important time for the business, which is exploring an expansion into the US supported by Innovate UK, a non-departmental public body responsible for funding and supporting organisations to make new products and services.

West Yorkshire mayor Tracy Brabin said: “In West Yorkshire, we aren’t just talking about a green revolution - we are making it happen.

“Trust Electric Heating is a prime example of our region’s expertise in manufacturing and how we are solving the energy problems of the future.

“It was great to meet the apprentices here today, who are the ones who will ensure West Yorkshire remains at the forefront of green innovation on the path to net zero.”

Fiona Conor, chief executive at Trust Electric Heating, added: “The Made Smarter grant has been transformative for us, unlocking capacity for further innovation and helping us to streamline our production.

“Our new testing facilities mean we can fast-track product development and bring smarter, more sustainable heating solutions to market. Tracy’s visit reinforces how vital partnerships are in driving manufacturing forward. We’re proud to be investing in talent and technology that will position us for growth in the UK and internationally.”
